Zillow presents: The Girl Who Didn’t Want to Move

Moving to a new home is hard — especially for kids. It’s scary, exciting, sad, stressful and–for a lot of kids–completely new.

It can be really overwhelming. So we created The Girl Who Didn’t Want to Move to help.

It’s a children’s book designed to help parents talk to their kids about moving. To help them understand what their move is going to look and feel like. And help them understand all the big feelings that come along with a move, and how to deal with them.

The story follows the move of a character named Iris, covers important aspects of moving such as staying connected to old friends, making new ones, and seeing the move as a new adventure. The book also includes a discussion guide authored by Dr. Reena B. Patel, LEP BCBA, Parenting, Education, and Behavior Expert.
